Using Postcards This Holiday Season to Attract Business

I made these holiday cards in Canva and printed the through them. The stickers come from the booster.com and some stickers are placed where the stamps are supposed to go but there is a purpose for that. Those cards will go in December’s Mystery Bags. The stickers that are placed on the side, those will go to my customers. Great way to stay connected with current and future customers. The postcards were 50 for $15 over at canva.com (great app).

How To Make a Mug Gift Basket

Putting together is as easy as 1,2,3 and as economical as you can make it by using products from your nearest dollar store. The key to making your gifts look expensive is how you arrange the products and I have found that using tulle instead of a store-bought bow can give the basket an upscale look. Also, making your own bows with wired-ribbon can also give your basket a look that everyone will enjoy and appreciate.

How to Put Together Sample Packs on a Budget

There are many possibilities to make your business known outside of social media. In all honesty, I have to say that we have become complacent with social media and we don’t want to go out there in the world and find the customers that we need for so many reasons or excuses. But one thing for sure, I have learned a simple technique (I love simplicity) on how to attract customers to your business by putting together sample packs on a budget.

To create your sample packs, all you need is:

  1. Sandwich bags
  2. Product list (if your company doesn’t have a product list, you can use a page from your catalog)
  3. Business card
  4. Postcard (for any specials you have. You can create your own via Canva)
  5. Card ( just like a business card but to offer any subscription boxes or bags that you personally put together or your company)

How To Put Together Prospecting Packets

Every direct sales company will call the customer care packets in many different ways. One way I like to call them is Prospecting Packets. In my previous direct sales company I was in, I learned so much about the power of presentation and communication.

The Power of 3 was one great way to talk to 3 people every day. This created momentum and a powerful action plan to make your business successful.

Even though I’m no longer in that company, I am bringing with me so much value and content to make any business successful.

However, you need to set the tone of your business. Business will not come to you if you don’t work it. Excuses are useless in this type of business and if you are READY to succeed and work this business like you would any other job with passion, then success will be knocking at your door.

In this blog, I am sharing with you a simple way to put together a professional looking prospecting packet that you can give to anyone you meet.

Materials you will need:
1. Clear bag
2. Catalog
3. Full size product
4. Samples
5. Business Card
6. Fundraising info
7. Recruiting info
8. Hostess info

Place all these items inside the clear bag. The clear bag has to be big enough for the catalog and the extra items to fit in. When it comes to a full-sized product, don’t break your pocket. Use an inexpensive product from your company and add it to your prospecting bag.

Sometimes I add nail files that has my company logo and they cost me less than $2 and I get 5 in a packet or I just go to the dollar store and get some extra nail files or something that will go according to the business your in. The company I’m with has nothing to do with nails, but it does offer hand lotions and hand soaps so the company has some nail files with the company logo on them.

Make sure that you label EVERYTHING before you place everything on the bags. Also, make sure you collect information so you can follow up with them on the samples and full size product you provided. Here’s my view on this type of income producing activity, you’re gaining new clientele and you need this to keep your business alive, right? Do you want to make money? Of course! Then follow up is key. Don’t be afraid of using the phone.

When I mention following up is not following via messenger texting or phone texting, I’m referring to an actual phone call.

Here’s another reason why I set up my prospecting bags this way. I always say that we need to treat women like Queens and men like Kings because, of course, men are in direct sales too. So if we give them a loaded prospecting packet, it is actually saying that they are valuable. And they are!

Give this a try and always treat your business like a business. Otherwise, you will reap what you sow.

How To Romance Your Business To Gain Interest

Whether you are hosting an online, catalog, or home party, romancing your products can bring your products to life. I understand many have the fear of doing live videos, but do it afraid! I had a friends say that I have gotten better in doing videos and I felt so much better about her feedback because 1) she’s watching my videos, and 2) I’ve gotten better with practice. I’m sure you have heard the saying, “practice makes perfect” and I hold that to be the truth.

It’s got nothing to do with you when you go live. It’s the power of delivering valuable information when you create a live video or pre-record one. In all honesty, I have done videos with my hair all over the place. Stop being your own personal worst critic. If you stutter, it’s okay. Did you forget what you were going to say? It’s okay. Are you on your pj’s? It’s okay. I have done that plenty of times. But one key to doing these videos is to have fun.

During my online parties I go live before the party ends and play games or possibly do a fun giveaway and I wear a fun headband. For my November parties, I wore a leaf headband I found on Oriental Trading. Every guest had so much fun and I received private messages on how awesome the headbands look. If I have to make a fool of myself by wearing headbands, I will continue to do so because it is not about me, it is about the guests and the Hostess in those parties they booked.

We have to reverse our thinking and focus on them instead of you. Stop looking for reasons not to do a live video. Shyness got nothing to do with it and I dare say that. I have seen many shy people get out of their comfort zone and still do videos. I can tell they are shy because their voice tremble, but they do it any way. Sometimes we have to do it afraid. Do it even if your legs feel like jello. Get it done even if you have no clue what you are going to talk about. The point is to do it until you feel comfortable and become second nature.

Watching YouTube videos of other people talking about hostess packets, customer service and all things business has helped me come up with my own content. If someone asks you questions, you can turn those questions into video content. That content can be romanced to the viewer so that they can grasp what you are trying to share. What have you accomplished lately? If you were able to make sales and pay some bills, romance the fact that they can do the same thing. Share the benefits of having their own business. So when you romance the benefit of earning money through your business, the viewer may want to know more. This goes with the products or services you sell.

When you watch a commercial or even the home shopping network, what do they do? They romance every product they showcase and that catches the viewers interest and could possibly end up in a final sale. Consumers just don’t want that frying pan, that moisturizer, those jeans; they want connection with the products by linking it with feelings and emotions to satisfy the deepest needs and wants.

In conclusion, leave those unsecured feelings behind because I truly believe that you are more powerful than that. Do it afraid! Give the customers what they want. Don’t sell to them, give them romance!

A Guide to Finding Self-Esteem

There is so much competition surrounding us that it’s really overwhelming being around someone who wants to be better than someone else. If we just focus on what’s importance, our self-esteem can remain stable because we discovered our self-worth. If you didn’t know You Are Valuable and you dont have to be like everyone else.

When I was a teenager my type of competition was in choreographing my dances. I wanted to be the best and be recognized as one of the best. I did achieve that but what this whole thing created was destroying my value, my self-esteem and in some cases caused depression.  Is that how you want to end up?

As we grow older, we realize that these actions were going to affect my personal life. There is no self-control and we need to find that fast. This can be applied in the direct sales industry.  There’s so much comparison, so much competition that if we stop and realize that everyone in direct sales are trying to achieve the same thing and that is to make money. Am I right?

If we don’t achieve out goals, we become discouraged.  If we don’t see fast results, we’re not good enough. If nobody wants to join my team, then this business is not for me. This society has created a facade that we decided to believe in and it shouldn’t be that way. We are unique in our own way and when it comes to building a direct sales business it takes time, effort, dedication and determination. 

We need to get rid of the microwave mentality and stop expecting things to happen in an instant. If you evaluate the top performers if any direct sales compant, their success happened in about 5 years max. Those who achieved their goals faster created habits that allowed them to make things happen. Meaning, there were no excuses.
Think about what’s making you feel the way you do. Why haven’t you achieved your goals? How can you get your brain out of the way so that you can live your best *confident* life? The key is figuring out what makes you feel bad about yourself and what you’re doing that’s not working and learn how to minimize those negative situations.

For example,  evaluate your income producing activities. If something is working, don’t change it. Whatever is not working replace it with another activity. Also, a good way to maximize your daily activities is being surrounded by top leaders, by people who are actually doing what you want to do and achieve the level of success you want to reach. 
Surround yourself with people that lift you up.  Learn about your values and focus on what matters to you and how you want to be seen. Ask yourself these two questions:

  1. What is a quality that I want to be able to see in myself?
  2. Who do I admire as and why?

A technique I use a lot since I was a teenager was the use of a journal to record my thoughts, my goals and my dreams. When I choreographed every dance I wanted to perform in a school dance competition I jotted down the name of the song and visualize every step were going to make and record those in the journal. Direct sales is no different. In order for you to visualize where you’re headed, writing things down is a powerful activity that needs to be practiced daily. Be intentional. Be deeply specific so that you can have a clear idea of where you stand.

Taking ideas and putting them on paper can help you  look at them at a different angle and helps you understand more what’s missing and fill that gap. Then focus on the steps that are needed to fill that gap. 

Everyone goes through the same cycle of the ‘I’m not good enough’ issue bit you can make things happen if you focus on the right things. As direct sellers, we have powerful tools that our company offers us such as training available. Make a commitment to revise these training courses each week. I check them out every Tuesday with pen and paper on hand to take notes. Also, fill your mind with training that other people offer in social media. For example, I love watching YouTube videos that Directors from the company I’m with share and I take notes on those. 

To feed my mind with knowledge and understanding of certain topics,  I watch Dr. Caroline Leaf on how the mind works  and how our thoughts affect every decision we make. Learning is life-long journey but you will feel so confident that no matter what others say, will not affect you if you don’t let it. 

Find Content From Magazines for Your Direct Sales Business

Do you need to subscribe to magazines to find content for your direct sales business? Absolutely not. Magazines are a great tool to spark creativity and share content with people that follow your blog or your social media account. Just like company blogs, the magazines content is already done for you ,all you have to do is tailor it to your business needs.

When trying to figure out what to share, read the magazine titles and brainstorm ways that you can share information based on the titles, if nothing comes up, continue reading the articles. I’m sure the content provided will help you with the content flow. You can create content based on the current season such as Thanksgiving, Pumpkin Carving, and Fall easy recipes.

Although having a magazine sounds like a great idea, you can save money by visiting the magazine’s website and the content is absolutely free of charge.

Use Your Company’s Blog to Your Advantage

As content creators, we tend to experience writer’s block. This is the moment in which your mind decides to go blank and nothing comes up. It’s just not working! One tip I learned many years ago was the use of your company’s blog to share information when you have nothing to say. 
The blog is there for a reason. The content is already created for you. Take valuable information from the blog and make it your own. Share tips, ideas and sometimes recipes are shared, so share those.  This is free content that can be shared in any social media platform, your own blog, and even your customers newsletter. 
One thing I’ve noticed is that when reading the company’s blog, your mind automatically creates the content you need. When you read information, certain topics will just pop up in your head and then you have so much content you have no idea what to do about it. In reality, when you experience writer’s block is when you know you need something to help you stir creativity. 
Try it! I’m sure you will have lots to talk about. 

Take Care of Your Hostesses

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately on how to best care for my customers as well as my Hostesses. Feeding my mind with what others have done that’s working for them. Income Producing Activities that are intentional can give you a return on investment when done properly. There is no way you can expect to give and not follow up on those you have served. 
It is a waste of time and money to serve someone and not following up. People are not going to call you so working your business full circle is the best way to see those returns you’ve been waiting for. When we take the initiative to work our business the right way, we will see that what we’ve been doing previously was not the right way to go. 
I decided to offer Pouch Parties because it’s a full service event for busy people. What I do is I set up a Facebook Group or an Instagram chat specifically for my Hostesses, I will post normally, and while I’m posting for the inlune party, my Hostess is working her party withbher pouch serving family and friends experiencing our products and earning additional sales for her party. 
So while I’m working on her party group, she is also working her party with the pouch. It is very important to treat your online parties like a home party. Give your Hostess and her guests the experience of being a home party. Go live and conduct a demonstration. Be brave and courageous and go live. Back in the days there was no live sessions so we automatically had to schedule a home party and be present. What’s the excuse now? It’s no different. 
We need to get out of that comfort zone and take courage. Kelp your guests enrtauned and remind the hostess that even if she’s trying the Pouch Party, she needs to be involved in her party group. Her presence will make a difference. Her enthusiasm is worth a million bucks so to speak. 
These parties can be authentically fun. Each month I wear a different headband and people love this craziness. Be you. Be fun. Don’t be shy. Be daring.
